Unikoo now has over 50 employees and serves clients across Flanders, through offices in Antwerp, Ghent and Hasselt.

Studio Fledge is Unikoo’s AI & tech innovation studio. We help companies (SMEs as well as bigger organisations in healthcare, the public sector, etc.) to truly apply AI, data and digitalisation: from initial exploration and use case discovery to concrete implementation and integration into their business. We don’t believe in hype, but in pragmatic AI applications that deliver tangible value.

About the role

To further expand our technology services, including ‘Studio Fledge’, we are looking for a Head of Technology & AI / Studio Fledge to become the face of our tech studio. You combine commercial ownership with technical credibility: you identify technology opportunities with clients and know how to translate these into concrete projects. You are both the business lead driving growth and new initiatives, the thought leader delivering inspirational sessions, and the intake lead structuring client queries into feasible solutions. Furthermore, you translate that thought leadership into a clear vision that provides direction for the technology team.

On top of that, you continue to monitor implementation projects by actively participating in tech projects – depending on your profile as a project manager, solution architect or strategic analyst.

In other words: a unique combination of commercial ownership, thought leadership and hands-on delivery, where you truly help build the future of tech & AI in Flemish companies!

Listed below are some of your responsibilities

Commercial ownership

• Responsible for the growth and P&L of Studio Fledge
• Translating market trends into approaches, propositions, methodology and repeatable offerings (workshops, accelerators, MVP formats, automation playbooks).
• Creating a feedback loop between the market (what customers are asking for) and internal capabilities (what we can/should build)
• Identifying and capitalising on opportunities with new and existing Unikoo clients (cross-selling to tech & AI programmes)
• Structuring and leading client discussions on technology, AI, digitalisation and automation: discovery, refining the problem statement, managing expectations
• Networking and building relationships: utilising events, roundtables and other channels to position Studio Fledge
• Collaborating with other service lines to identify and realise technology opportunities

Evangelism, thought leadership & vision

• Actively monitoring tech & AI trends (LLMs, AI agents, automation platforms, low-code/no-code, cloud architectures, etc.) and translating these into a clear vision, both externally and internally for our people
• Organising and delivering workshops, inspiration sessions, roundtables and executive briefings on innovative technology, AI, automation and digitalisation
• Facilitating strategy sessions: use case discovery, technology roadmapping, prioritisation
• Acting as a trusted advisor to clients on their digitalisation and innovation journeys

Intake & pre-sales structuring

• Leading intake processes and structuring client enquiries into clear problem statements
• Translating business needs into initial solution directions: AI, automation, platforms, portals or traditional development
• Coordinating with internal teams (developers, AI engineers, solution architects, project managers) to arrive at strong proposals
• Monitoring scope, feasibility and alignment with Studio Fledge capabilities
• Acting as a bridge between business and technology in the pre-sales phase
• Ensuring projects are properly defined before they move to delivery

Delivery (depending on your profile)

You will contribute to the implementation of tech & AI projects. Depending on your background, this can take various forms:

• Option A – Project Management / Delivery Lead
  • Taking on project management roles in tech, AI and digitalisation projects
  • Structuring projects: scope, milestones, stakeholder alignment
  • Monitoring progress, budget and quality
• Option B – Solution Architect
  • Developing conceptual tech & AI architectures (data flows, integrations, platform design)
  • Technical validation of use cases and solution approaches
  • Advising on build vs buy, tooling and platform choices
• Option C –  Strategic Analyst
  • Developing tech & AI use cases and business cases
  • Translating client processes into digitalisation and automation opportunities
  • Supporting blueprinting (scope & roadmap)

Our ideal “Head of Technology & AI / Studio Fledge”?

Education & experience

• A master’s degree (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Business/IT, or a related field)
• At least 10 years’ experience in a technical role (solution architect, developer, AI engineer, technical consultant) or a strategic role (business analyst, product manager, strategic consultant)
• Commercial skills and ambition (business development, account management, pre-sales) in a tech, SaaS, or consultancy context
• Broad knowledge of technology, AI and digitalisation: you can speak credibly about various tech stacks, AI, automation, platforms and digital products
• Experience leading client meetings, workshops and C-level presentations
• Experience in a consultancy, agency or scale-up environment is a major plus
• Ideally, knowledge of the Flemish SME/scale-up market and an affinity with growth companies
